Participatory approach to draw ergonomic criteria for window design

Abstract This paper sets new criteria to improve windows design strategies using participatory ergonomics and the grounded theory method. Focus groups are used investigate participants' reactions discussions about visual stimuli their deduction in terms of further employment specific window techniques or uses. Results framework is established through relevance relationship between 25 coded categories, grouped 5 main macro-categories describe value attribution ergonomic from users' perspective. Three principles highlighted: connection with outside context feel oriented, filtering glaze mediate outdoor towards ideal indoor conditions, manageability.
